Charles E. "Chuck" Murdoch, 89, of Fulton passed away peacefully Thursday, July 25, 2024 with his children by his side at Oswego Hospital. Chuck was born August 13, 1934 in Syracuse to Verne P. and Rosalie Elwell Murdoch and was a graduate of Phoenix High School. He enlisted into the U.S. Army where he served in the motor pool. Chuck retired from Black Clawson after several years of employment. He enjoyed NASCAR, boating, hunting and had his pilot's license for several years. In his younger years he raced on drag strips throughout the country. Chuck's biggest passion in life was classic cars. He enjoyed going to classic car shows, his favorite being the Syracuse Nationals, which he attended for 23 straight years. He was proud to show his 1967 Oldsmobile 442 convertible which he had for over 50 years and his 1995 Chevy Tahoe. Chuck is survived by his daughter, Mary Murdoch of Cicero; his son, Joseph (Karen) Murdoch of Oswego; his granddaughter, Alissa Murdoch and by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Chuck was predeceased by his wife, JoAnne Elizabeth Flack Murdoch; his son, Verne Murdoch; his sister, Jeanne Austic; his brother; Richard Murdoch and by his companion, Nola Lago. Chuck will be remembered as a good friend, caring neighbor and will be greatly missed.
