David Whitten, 75, of Oswego, New York passed away Friday, October 21, 2016. He was born January 1, 1941 in Alton, illinois to Virginia and Gilbert Whitten. David worked with Owens Illinois as a design engineer. His career allowed him to travel extensively and he had several patents with the company. David loved to send jokes on e-mail, car races and his dog, Banjo. He will be greatly missed. David was predeceased by his son Jeffrey, who died in 1993 and by the love of his life, his wife, Ruby Whitten, who died in 2014. He is survived by his step-mother, Ruth Volz of East Alton, Il.; daughter, Michele Ross of Bowling Green, OH; a brother, Mike (Susan) Whitten of Pasadena, CA.; a sister, Bobbi Orrill of Wood River, Il.; step-daughters, Rebecca Burch of Fulton, NY, Kim Burch of Redfield, NY and Renée (Mike) Doney of Fulton, NY; grandchildren, Jordan, Matthew, Mikey, Walker, Hillary, Quinn, Bella, Trevor and Caidyn.
