Donald Joseph Lanning, 90, of Fulton formerly of Safety Harbor, Florida, passed away peacefully, Saturday, August 24, 2024 at St. Luke Health Services in Oswego. Don was born March 8, 1934 in Fulton and was employed with the Local #38 Painters Union in Oswego. He moved to Safety Harbor, Florida in 1977 where he established D and J Painting. Don was an avid outdoorsman and had a passion for hunting and fishing. Don was known among his peers and longtime friends who have since passed as "Gungadin". Donald is survived by his children, Pierre (Julie) Lanning of Fulton, Donald (Jennifer) Lanning of New Port Richey, Florida, Cathy (John) Farrar of Oldsmar, Florida and Lou (Cari) Lanning of New Port Richey, Florida; his long-time companion, Barbara Hall of Fulton; 12 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Donald was predeceased by his wife, Josephine Simon Lanning; his sister, Phyllis Kirts and by his brother, Roy Hartle. There are no calling hours or services.
