George W. Kimball, 90, of Fulton passed away Monday, December 29, 2025 at his home. He was born in Schroeppel on September 15, 1935 to William N. and Edna M. Kimball. George was a high school graduate with a strong work ethic. He was employed at Black Clawson for 39 years where he began as a machinist and retired as a maintenance mechanic. He established Kimball’s Auto and Towing in the early 1970’s which is now operated by his son, Gregg. George was a member of the Army National Guard from 1954 until 1957 and was a lifetime member of the Volney Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, DIRT racing and was a sponsor of many cars at the Fulton Speedway and the Syracuse Microd Club.
George is survived by his children, David (Robin) Kimball of Scriba, Dawn (Craig El Hage) Kimball of Palermo and Gregg (Laurie) Kimball of Fulton; four grandchildren, Maria, Danielle, Derek and Dylan as well as several great grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Sandra in 1994; his second wife, Mary in 2021 and by his brother, Irving Kimball in 2023.
Calling hours will be held from 3 to 6 p.m., Friday, January 2, 2026 at Brown Funeral Home, 21 Flood Drive in Fulton. Graveside services will be held in the spring at Roosevelt Cemetery. Contributions in George’s memory may be made to the Volney Volunteer Fire Corporation, 3002 State Route 3, Fulton, NY 13069.
