Gilda Spagnola, 93, of Fulton, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, June 28, 2024 at St. Luke Residential Health Services in Oswego. Gilda was born August 27, 1930 in Jersey City, New Jersey, the youngest of 12 children to Joseph and Felice Scerbo. She had been employed as a bookkeeper at the Easy Bargain Center in Fulton for 20 years and as a bank teller for 11 years at Key Bank. In her younger years, Gilda enjoyed dancing and roller skating. More recently she enjoyed playing BINGO and participating in activities with her fellow residents at Towpath Towers.
She is survived by her children, Linda (Jim) Carioti of Phoenix, Phyllis (Mike) Crisafulli of Phoenix and Joseph (Paul Tyler) Spagnola of East Syracuse; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one great, great granddaughter and by a special niece, Michele Kempston. Gilda was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Joseph on May 14, 2008 and by her daughter, Theresa Conley on July 12, 2017.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 8, 2024 at Brown Funeral Home with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Fulton. Following the graveside services, a reception will be held in Gilda's honor at 12 p.m., Monday July 8, 2024 at the Fulton Elks Lodge, 57 Pierce Drive, Fulton. Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, July 7, 2024 at the funeral home, 21 Flood Drive in Fulton.
