Harvey “Bill” William Hall passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on June 29, 2026, after a short illness. Bill was born February 23, 1942, in Central New York to Esther May and Harvey Hall. He spent most of his life in Fulton, NY, before retiring to Florida, where he spent his winters as a snowbird, returning to New York each summer. He spent his final years in Baldwinsville, NY, close to family.

Bill was a proud United States Navy veteran. He spent much of his life as an entrepreneur — he purchased and ran Boynton’s Hotel and Bar, founded Yankee Trader Sports and Hall’s Family Restaurant, along with several investment properties along the way. Later in life, he became a truck driver — and he liked to joke that he’d finally found his true calling, just in time to retire from it.

Bill never met a stranger, forging friendships lasting a lifetime through his journey. He was a straight shooter who carried himself with integrity and a willingness to help those in need. He lived life on his own terms, right up to the end. You could usually find him at the range with friends and family, or out hunting and fishing — anywhere outdoors was where he was happiest.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Deanna; his daughter, Lisa; his brother, Dick; and his sister, Joan. He is survived by his grandson, William (Tiffany) Hoff; his granddaughter, Deanna Hoff; his great-grandchildren, Desiree, Dakota, Logan, and Alexis; his sister, Lillian; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Bill’s legacy isn’t in the business he built or the belongings he owned. It’s in the laughs he shared, the stories he told, the countless people he helped along the way, and most importantly, the lessons and values he instilled in his family.

At Bill’s request, there will be no services. In tribute to the man he was, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, you consider a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, or simply take a child fishing in his memory — he’d like that even better. Condolences for Bill’s family may be shared at www.brownfuneralhomefulton.com.
