Joan A. (Wood) Carroll, 89, of Fulton passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at home. She was born in Fulton on December 17, 1935 to James and Bernice "Barney" Wood. Joan was a graduate of Fulton High School and the Rochester Business Institute. She retired from the Fulton City School District after 26 years of service at the Fulton Junior High School where she had been employed as the office secretary. Joan was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church and was a member of the Fulton Women's Club. Although she didn't play golf, Joan loved to watch it on television and her favorite golfer was Tiger Woods. Joan enjoyed the peacefulness of living along the river and watching the boats go by her home. She especially cherished the time spent with her granddaughter and great grandson.
She is survived by her son, Jim Carroll; her granddaughter, Amanda (Malachi) Skilinskis and by her great grandson, Gabriel. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gary in 1996 and by her daughter, Judy Carroll in 2016.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 2, 2025 in Holy Trinity Church, 309 Buffalo Street in Fulton. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Fulton.
