IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Leland "Lee"
Briggs
June 4, 1942 – February 6, 2026
Leland “Lee” Briggs, 83, of Fulton passed away Friday, February 6, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Fulton on June 4, 1942 to Erwin P. and Mildred I. Briggs was a life resident of Fulton. Lee enlisted into the U.S. Air Force at the age of 19 and proudly served his country for four years. He often spoke about his deployment to Goose Bay, Labrador, Canada, a strategic air base originally built in 1941 during WWII. During his service, Lee worked as a mail clerk specialist, a role vital to morale, mission support, operational management, security and compliance. Lee was employed at the Miller Brewery for 18 years as a forklift operator until the plant closed. He later worked for several years at the Felix Schoeller paper company and eventually retired from the Riverview Business Park. In his spare time Lee enjoyed reading, working on intricate puzzles and tending to his garden. Some of his favorite memories were made in the garden, especially; when his grandson Kody was young and helped his grandpa plant most of his vegetables.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Grace M. (Belfiore) Briggs; two children, Lisa (Patrick) Doran of Volney and Paul Briggs of Syracuse; one grandson, Kody Doran as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Charles Briggs and by his sister, Beulah Wood.
